Abstract: This research is focused on the use of puppets to improve English vocabulary because for children the use of puppets is a good and educational strategy. Children at an early age learn new things faster than adults, in the case of languages acquisition the first years in elementary school are important. Students process information and learn new knowledge but the learning process has to be motivated by the teachers with new and different methodologies to capture the attention of them. Puppets catch the attention of students in all languages, these resources are well known in several subjects, and in the elementary school at Unidad Educativa. Academia Cap. Leonardo Abad Astudillo, the use of puppets contributed to improve English vocabulary in the first year of basic education. The results permitted that Children increase their vocabulary through scientific method and It proved the effectiveness of its application.
