dc.descriptionThe Nobol canton is a privileged destination for religious tourism, since Santa Narcisa de Jesús lived in the Hacienda San José and has been preserved until now and her stained body is found in the National Sanctuary that bears her name. The purpose of the research is to analyze religious tourism from the sustainable development of the local community. For this purpose, a non-experimental design and mixed methodology were used, supported by descriptive research. The information gathering techniques were the survey directed to visitors and residents and the interview directed to the personnel of the Municipal GAD and the Sanctuary. The results obtained show the interest in developing tourism in an orderly manner, the basic profile and preferences of the visitors and the perspectives of the residents regarding the activity as an income generator. In conclusion, it was evidenced that the contribution of religious tourism is beneficial and comprehensive for the sustainable development of the canton, since its negative effects are minimal and the economic, environmental and social advantages are numerous. It is ideal to carry out an annual information survey regarding tourist preferences, tourist services and the state of cultural, religious and natural heritage.en
dc.descriptionEl cantón Nobol es un destino privilegiado del turismo religioso, debido a que en la Hacienda San José habitó la Santa ecuatoriana Narcisa de Jesús que ha conservado hasta ahora su cuerpo incólume y se encuentra en el Santuario Nacional que lleva su nombre. El propósito de la investigación es analizar el turismo religioso desde el desarrollo sostenible de la comunidad local. Para tal efecto, se empleó un diseño no experimental y metodología mixta, apoyados en la investigación descriptiva. Las técnicas de recolección de información fueron la encuesta dirigida a visitantes y residentes y la entrevista dirigida a personal del GAD Municipal y del Santuario. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian el interés por desarrollar el turismo de forma ordenada, el perfil básico y preferencias de los visitantes y las perspectivas de los residentes frente a la actividad como generadora de ingresos. En conclusión, se evidenció que el aporte del turismo religioso es beneficioso e integral para el desarrollo sostenible del cantón, pues sus efectos negativos son mínimos y las ventajas económicas, ambientales y sociales son numerosas. Es ideal realizar levantamiento de información anual respecto de las preferencias turísticas, los servicios turísticos y el estado del patrimonio cultural, religioso y natural.es
