dc.description.abstractThis research focuses in the use of journals to improve english writing to students of first at centro de apoyo tutorial Santa Rosa Salinas in the academic year 2015-2016. the investigation has theoretical framework about writing, importance of writing and journals. in this project, a survey was applied because it was necessary to know what the level of written english in the students at this institution. this project used the qualitative method in order to categorize data into patterns as the primary basis for organizing and reporting results, other techniques as notes, journals, interviews, camera to collect valuable audio and video was used as well, especially in the interview with experts and the principal at centro de apoyo tutorial, Salinas, province of Santa Elena, 2015 – 2016. The results show that the students of first year did not know how to write in english, but this problem had results. this proposal project proposes activities in journals where they describe daily routines with all kind of things, for example: the family or friends. students write their interest and then they have presentation about their best exercises. students improved their writing in english.es_ES
