- Item Basic english vocabulary booklet for blind students at C.E.I. Melvin Jones, La Libertad, province of Santa Elena, school year 2018-2019(2020-02-14) Reyes Quimí, Lourdes Gisell; Chávez Gonzabay, LeonardoThis project was created to promote an active participation of students in the process of learning the English language. This is a way of contributing to their integral development using didactic elements and the braille method to facilitate language learning on blind students. The main problem is the lack of material in braille system to introduce basic english vocabulary in blind students at Melvin Jones. The observation and exploration method allowed finding that blind students could not learn English because of lack of materials of Braille System and the results showed a positive change in which students achieved a better understanding of vocabulary.
- Item Mobile application to enhance writing skills for tenth graders of Unidad Educativa Alfa y Omega, la Libertad, province of Santa Elena, school year 2018-2019.(La Libertad: Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, 2020., 2020-02-12) Silvestre Pozo, David Andrés; Carabajo Romero, ÍtaloThe present work is an investigation which objective was to establish the use of WhatsApp as a teaching tool to enhance the writing skills on 23 students of tenth basic year at Unidad Educativa Alfa y Omega, in Santa Elena Province, Ecuador. The investigational group was allowed to use WhatsApp messenger Application in a smart device, whose principal characteristics are the usefulness of groups chatting, personal chatting sharing that allowed enhancing the writing skills on students through the practice of interactive activities, lectures and podcast. For the development of this research it was required to apply the qualitative method by implementing techniques such as: Focus group, observation and interviews. The results of these analysis demonstrated that the application of mobile learning technique in a smart device (WhatsApp), generate significant effects on writing skills of students such as the improvement of writing skill. These outcomes suggest that teachers should start changing traditional ways of teaching English specifically in the writing training sessions and explore new methods to improve production on students.
- Item Interactive communication to improve the speaking skill in students of eighth basic grade at escuela de educación básica José Pedro Varela, La Libertad province of Santa Elena. School year 2018-2019(La Libertad: Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, 2019, 2019-07-02) Suárez Gurumendi, Ronald Norberto; Vera Cruzatti, Rossana NarcisaThis research studies the different difficulties that learners face in class that do not allow them to increase the English proficiency level, the strategies which can be applied to improve those difficulties and the importance of the implementation of communication activities as a pedagogical tool in class. Thus the purpose of this research were: to improve the speaking skills in students of eighth basic grade using the communicative approach and to study if the students really can learn the English language using communicative activities. The sample group consisted of 38 students of eighth basic grade at Escuela de Educación Básica “Jose Pedro Varela”. In this research was implemented the qualitative method in which were applied the following instruments: interviews, focus group and observation; in order to obtain relevant information which contributed to solve the difficulties in the speaking skills students had. The implementation of the proposal implied the application of 10 interactive communication activities which were taking from the English book provided by the Ministery of Education, the activities were based on the units students had already learned in class so it helps to work, focus on the previous knowledge student acquire joining the new ones. Moreover, before starting with the interactive communication activities was necessary took a post-test (qualitative and quantitative) which aid to measure the level of speaking in them, then at the end of the proposal in the same way a pre-test (qualitative and quantitative) was taking in order to analyze the percentage of improvement (36%) they reached with the implementation of the proposal. The research finding was that students get a significant improvement in their speaking skills. Therefore, professors, English teachers and teachers in general ought to implement these strategies in class because of the good results, these teaching strategies can cause in the teaching learning process.
- Item Ecuadorian legendary stories to improve the speaking skill to students of tenth grade at Colegio UPSE, La Libertad, Santa Elena academic year 2016-2017.(La Libertad: Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, 2018., 2018) Orrala Domínguez, Carlos Hernán; Cevallos Alcívar, JeannetteAt present Education has evolved with new techniques for the teaching-learning process and teachers have decided to apply different resources in their classes. So, the principal objective of this research proved that Ecuadorian legendary stories with the qualitative and inductive methods improved the speaking skill and it was possible to achieve it with the correct activities. Students practiced them, and they became better English speakers, their Speaking skill are in a very high level of proficiency. The use of Ecuadorian legendary stories was very useful for the improvement of the ability mentioned. Though the students of tenth grade from Colegio UPSE had a low level of speaking proficiency, they were predisposed to practice with the specific exercises. Ecuadorian legendary stories contributed them more openings, so, it was very significant not to have lost any detail since the future of students is involved with this project, they were able to interact with their relatives, friends and of course with foreign people.

At the same time, it is focused in the development of English learners skills, considering the vocabulary knowledge as an important factor to reach such developments, phrasal verbs conform parts of key vocabulary that learners have to manage, since native English communication includes them daily, with the combination of these facts, it is propose a web application as a tool that motivates tenth grade students from Colegio Particular “Eloy Velásquez Cevallos” to learn phrasal verbs, by performing online activities such as: karaoke, cards reading, games and similar exercises; to advance in their comprehension abilities and even other skills, as a consequence students get stronger foreign language comprehension as well as fluency. Finally, this work contributed to maintain the motivation and also assists in the learning-acquisition level that English Ecuadorian framework entails.

Rio Verde, Santa Elena, province of Santa Elena. school year 2017-2018.(La Libertad: Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, 2018., 2018) Borbor Borbor, Danny Javier; Chávez Gonzabay, Leonardo A.The principal objective of this project is to build up speaking skills through the implementation of a digital book consisting of basic conversations addressed to students of tenth grade at Unidad Educativa “Prof. Cleofé Apolinario Orrala”. In order to give technical support to the present research project it was necessary to research and develop information throughout the four chapters of the thesis project. The theoretical framework, the research methodology, and the implementation of the proposal, which describes the detailed process during the application of the digital book until the final assessment applied to the students’ performance based on the level of improvement of their speaking skills. The proposal of the implementation of the digital book with basic conversations to improve speaking skills represents the main accomplishment in this project. After the application of the digital book, it was confirmed that students improved their speaking skills, and the students felt more motivated to participate and learn by means of basic and interactive conversations guided by the digital English book.

In order to improve writing skills it is very important for educators and students the implementation of interesting vocabulary techniques inside the classrooms to make the learning – teaching process a great experience while improving writing. During the field research done at Presidente Tamayo School in Salinas there are problems in the learning English skills, but can be reinforced with appropriate methods. This project shows the improvement of eighth grade from President Tamayo School through vocabulary techniques that encourage students to develop their overall English fluency. Activities such as brainstorming, pre-writing, scanning, skimming, describing people, routines, and vocabulary related to occupations, daily activities, music, adjectives, verbs, food and more will be the basis in which this work is structured.
- Item Collaborative work to enhance writing skill in english among students of 1st bgu at Unidad Educativa Salinas Innova in Salinas province of Santa Elena, school year 2017-2018.(La Libertad: Universidad Estatal Península de Santa Elena, 2017., 2017-10-20) Landivar Mesias, Edwin Patricio; Cevallos Salazar, JorgeThe present research paper had as a general objective to enhance the writing skill through the use of collaborative writing tools of students from first BGU classroom C at Unidad Educativa Salinas Innova. The 18 students of first BGU year who participated in this investigation had difficulties with the writing skill they did not know how to build simple sentences and therefore write a simple paragraph. This research used as a methodological process the qualitative and quantitative approach because these methods allowed obtaining important information about the context of the problem. The proposal which was applied at Unidad Educativa Salinas Innova was based in a collaborative writing tool called Google Drive with Google Docs, Google slides and Google sheet web tools that were used because they allowed to work online with text, presentations in real time synchronically without specific activities to enhance writing skills in English language. The results demonstrated the use of Google drive increased the motivation among students of 1st. BGU at Unidad Educativa Salinas Innova. During the assessment stage it could be seen an improvement of 32 % between the pre and post-test after having implemented the project. Besides the motivation was the most important fact that made the students to stay connected and working all together under the instructor’s supervision.

School Year 2016-2017, through the implementation of interactive games. The actions were aimed to enrich the students’ vocabulary and increase their motivation to learn the English language. This research work involved the use of qualitative and quantitative methods. The researcher worked collaboratively with the English experts, the principal, English teacher and the students. The participants taking into account of this research work were 24 students of eighth basic grade at Unidad Educativa Salinas Siglo XXI, Salinas Province of Santa Elena. School Year 2016-2017. The data of this research work was qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was obtained by observing the teaching and learning process during the implementation of the actions and the application of the focus group strategy for interviewing the students about the implemented actions. The qualitative data was in the form of field notes and interview records. Meanwhile, the quantitative data was gained by assessing the students’ vocabulary through the pre-test and post-test. Therefore, the quantitative data was implemented with the objective to obtain students grades in the pre-test and post-test. The instrument for collecting the data was a vocabulary rubric. Additionally, the research results showed that the interactive games were effective to enrich the students’ vocabulary and they were useful to increase the students’ motivation to learn the English language. It was shown that the students seemed to be more enthusiastic and active in the teaching learning process. They also showed improvement on their pronunciation in words and phrases.
