This qualitative phenomenological study aimed to examine PINE students’ perceptions and experiences of using micro-videos on YouTube as a multimedia resource to support their English oral production through the flipped classroom model. The study focused on identifying the advantages and disadvantages of using this learning resource, understanding learners’ experiences, and exploring the strategies they use to practice and support their oral production. The research emerged from the need to better understand how students use digital multimedia resources for independent learning and how these resources contribute to the development of oral production outside the classroom. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, data were collected through one-on-one interviews with five PINE students from UPSE who had experience using YouTube micro videos as part of their English learning process. The interviews allowed participants to describe their perceptions, experiences, and learning practices in depth. The results showed that students perceived micro-videos as a useful learning resource for strengthening oral production, particularly in improving intonation, pronunciation, and vocabulary acquisition. Participants also reported that preparing with micro-videos before class enabled them to participate more actively in classroom discussions by asking and answering questions. Furthermore, they used strategies such as imitating the speaker’s pronunciation and intonation, repeating expressions, practicing aloud, and applying what they had learned during classroom activities. However, some disadvantages were identified, including distractions because there are many videos, the limited amount of information in short videos, and the lack of immediate feedback on pronunciation. Despite these challenges, the study concluded that YouTube micro-videos, when used for independent learning within the flipped classroom model, can effectively support students’ English oral production.
