The Ministry of Education in Ecuador demands the acquisition of English as a second language. Most of the students do not come into direct contact with the language in their daily lives, the only opportunities they have to do it occurs in the classroom and the occasional exposition to TV programs, music, videos or web sites. This fact implies a big challenge for ESL teachers concerning the use of appropriate strategies and techniques to teach English. Teachers need to find ways to motivate their students to learn and engage them to the lessons. This research proposes the use of warmers and fillers as a way to motivate students, and engage them to lessons as well as a tool for propitiating the development of speaking skills. Furthermore, it involves the creation of a website that facilitates learners all the information they need to develop their speaking skills, followed by a didactic guide with entertaining activities to improve Speaking will have a positive effect in the development of students’ productive skil ls.
