This study attempts to solve writing deficiencies of Ecuadorian students by
applying movies as an instructional audiovisual resource. Nowadays society is
linked with technology, because it is an important part of the educational
environment. The application of information and communication technologies
(ICTS) plays an essential role for students and educators in the teaching-learning
process. In some schools in Península of Santa Elena Province teachers continue
using traditional methods and do not have access to the technological tools. One
of the main objectives of this research paper is to determine the importance of
movies as an academic tool to enhance the writing skill. The result of this process
showed that movies combined with writing activities are very useful for both
instructors and learners. This study applied the quantitative and qualitative
methods at Unidad Educativa Península de Santa Elena. This project helped
