dc.description.abstract Developing reading skills could be a challenge for all students acquiring a second language. In this research project, the flip model was studied concerning reading skills. It is generally considered to be student-centered due to its development during class time under the guidance of the teacher; it provides a variety of possibilities in its execution, enabling students to develop autonomy and learn on their own. Nevertheless, there are also disadvantages, such as requiring higher levels of self-discipline, and it is common knowledge that students are self directed but not as disciplined in some cases. This research project aimed to analyze the flipped classroom as an educational model and its relationship with reading comprehension skills in a natural educational environment with the fourth-semester PINE students. The research was based on the qualitative method using a focus group technique. The research affirmed details of the advantages and disadvantages and mentioned the importance of self-education in students to advance in their educational process. es
