dc.description.abstract In today's globalized world, English has emerged as the universal language for effective crosscultural communication. This study conducted a comprehensive literatura review to Explore the use of role-play activities in enhancing the speaking skills of seventh- rade Students in a public school located in Loja city. The review systematically analyzed existing research, academic papers, and scholarly works to synthesize valuable insights on the subject. Ecuador recognizes the pivotal role of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in response to the demands of globalization. Teaching EFL, however, presents challenges stemming from the fundamental differences between Spanish and English, necessitating bilingual teachers who understand both languages' nuances. Cultural sensitivity plays a vital role in EFL education, and differentiated instruction tailored to accommodate diverse learning styles is deemed essential. Furthermore, the integration of songs as educational tools holds the potential to enhance language acquisition, provided they are selected and integrated with care. Role-play exercises have proven to be effective in improving oral communication skills and motivating students, but they may pose challenges for introverted students and require strategies for ensuring equitable participation. Additionally, incorporating technology and multimedia into role-play activities offers opportunities to amplify engagement and impart practical life skills. es
